This is not a joke

Bleu Chine was born one year ago, April 1st ! It was a test : would I be able to set up my own blog and just have fun in sharing the littlethings I love, through nice photos with sparkling colors ? A year after, I can say they were friendly moments with you and wonderful discoveries on your blogs. Thank you all for your kind messages and walks by there ! This book dated 1867 tells the story of Ireland. Its purple cover enhanced with gildinggoes perfectly with that little bouquet of pansies, gently... [Lire la suite]

A new life

I had found this shelve last summer. Here it is before I give it a second life... My friend Alphonse made a complete revision, then I painted it in a beige color. Now I can place some objects for a changing decoration, depending on the inspiration. Little embroidrery on silk, Fruit dish KG Luneville "Bleuet" pattern ... [Lire la suite]

A blue spot

Here it was, a spot of frank blue in this extraordinary bric-a-brac... and that so unexpected colorin the grey dust seemed to illuminate the place... Here it is, at home, on the little table I like to decorate with my last finds. An almost complete range of blue, from the pale to royal , with the Delft blue of a vase and the nice colors of dried hydrangea. Have a good week !

THE place of the year

A marvellous place lost in North Aveyron, where I discoverd antique furnitures, chandeliers, plates, old paintings and clocks... just have a look.   This is an old letter, written after the end of war 1939-1945, in which an ex-soldier asks to his friendwhat was the delicious cheese from Aveyron he had let him taste, and how much this particulartaste was engraved in his memory. I leave this paradise with some regrets, but I know I can come back and breathe again this kindof art de vivre from the... [Lire la suite]

Under the cherry tree

Today it is 25°... I appreciate the shade under the trees... to show you my last discoveries : The lamp from the Compagnie des Indes is waiting for a new lampshade   a soap dish waiting for the Marseille soap... et some laces to wash-tint-transform  A simple pleasure to admire the garden and the cherries which will be ready to eat in a few days, while rememoring happy time when we put them two-by-two behind ours ears…

Brocante in May

A painting of Paris Montmartre... Old laces and antique gold glasses in their purple velvet box, some little things, and still books…  A very fine work...   May is coming !

The double life of things

I discovered this old box with its false bottom and mysterious initials B.T., containing old bobbins. An occasion to dream of its previous life... As Miss Marple would do, let's imagine Mrs Betty Tenderton, old English dressmaker drinking a cupof tea in a Minton china, while hidding the murder weapon in the false bottom of her sewing box... Now in its new life, here is the Boîte à Trésors (my treasure box)... The nice cup will be used for a tea-party with friends ladies... The last for which ?
