Marvellous French glass globes
Offered for the weeding, they were protecting all the souvenirs and treasures of the newly married
woman : her wedding crown and later all little things, heritage of her parents or gift, she would add along her life. All the story here.
You can recognize the older ones to the fineness of the glass. Some are round, oval, up to 62 cm.
Today, when they do not collect them, the artists divert them to shelter under glass a whole small
world , a concentrate of marvellous history, using typography, books, butterflies..., and all the
accessories evocating a scene of life or carrying a message…
I love those of Estelle Cusset, here
or the cutting up of Scottish artist Georgia Boyd Russel
Nice scenes from Catherine for Rose & Gris, here !
